Teach for Proficiency, No Matter the Circumstance

I'm excited to offer my first full-day solo workshop in Braintree, MA on Tuesday, July 8th: Teach for Proficiency, No Matter the Circumstance!. Here is my message to teachers from the flyer below:

​"Many world language teachers strive to embrace the ACTFL guidelines for proficiency which emphasize language acquisition as a whole; yet adopting this framework takes time and adjustment. How can we teach for proficiency even if (especially if) our curriculum is linked to a sequence of isolated grammar topics? This workshop equips teachers with strategies that can work with any curriculum. Learn techniques that give students the repeated exposure to and understanding of the language structures that they need, while at the same time leaving room for student voice. Build proficiency and community with ready-to-implement activities, including my Summary Strategy and unique approach to Star of the Day, as well as exercises that teach grammar in context and promote connection.
